Maybe try using SetPixel or drawing a single pixel sized rectangle instead? Those are two suggestions I found using Google.

Thx so far, but setpixel doesn't exist. Maybe imma do the rectangle thing but i had hoped there'd be a more elegant way around it.

VB is as it states, basic. The devs of the language have taken lower level languages and put some wrappers around it to assist people in doing complicated graphics and interactions easier... If you have some problems with VB, and have no background in programming, I suggest starting with C# as it is a very easy language to learn. Or start with BASIC.
