Celestial software

I use "Celestia" almost 3 years is a good program. I will try Stellarium and i will come back here with a post. Thank you for this information EON8!

NASA and ESA have used Celestia in their educational and outreach programs, as well as for interfacing to trajectory analysis software. (source: www.wikipedia.org)

My college usually demands we use Starry Night (or some similar name... I've since deleted the program and lost it's CD). It works alright. I believe the download-able version of GoogleEarth also comes with a "night sky" plug-in that works fairly decently.

^^ thats correct, if you download google earth it does have the starry-night thing. Theres this easter egg they have on it that i found. Somewhere on mars, it has a thing where it says you can talk to the alien named melisa or something of that nature (which is a simulation) and they have a little chat box. The replies are computer generated obviously but its still kinda cool
